I would have to agree. Just make sure that you are following your doctor's instructions in tapering off of this medication. For me, when I tapered off of it, I noticed some rebound anxiety but we are all different. Do you think you may feel better when you are off of it, because you are now able to confront your anxeity more effeciently than when you first started taking the medication? I know, with me, that as time went on and I learned more about my anxiety, I started to gain more confidence and started feeling better as I contnued to confront it.
Ativan is an anxiety medication in the benzodiazepine family of drugs. It is fast-acting and short-lived (4-6 hours) in the body. When coming off of ativan, always do so under a doctor's instruction, otherwise you risk withdrawal and/or nasty side effects. All of the above is known fact about Ativan. That being said, and knowing everyone is different, it is still possible for you to feel better OFF the drug than ON it. Please discuss this with your doctor, as it IS confusing, as well as abnormal for this drug. Blessings - Blu
