Hi. I am about to start generic Lexapro but am very reluctant too. I was on Lexapro years ago for panic and anxiety, but stopped taking it about 4 years ago. Now being in my mid 40's I am going through menopause and am experiencing SEVERE anxiety. I am worried the generic Lexapro will make my train of thought worse than it already is now.
Lexapro can be a great treatment plan for some people, but you have to be very honest with your dr. about everything, I mean for teens under 18, and young men and women who have suicidal thoughts should not !!!!! take this medication. What happens is the mental energy that this chemical gives you, can go so high that your bain does not know what to do with it, and you have the thoughts, be very careful and tell your dr. every change in behaviour.
hope you get better!
I have been on lexapro for about 1 month and a half, and it has really helped me!! This is the 1st and only med I have taken, and it has help me get my life back. I wouldn't trade it for anything!!! Good luck!!
so far so good. today is my 4th day and i do already feel less tense. also no real side effects that are effecting me or my daily routines. thanks everyone.
I was taking lexapro for about 3 months and i really liked it a lot. It made me feel like I was in control of my thoughts. Title 19 won't cover it as a step one drug so my GP gave me a script for the 4runner of it at 20mg instead of the 10 of lexapro.. I am to try it for about 4 weeks and if it doesn't do as well I can go back to lexapro. The lexapro gave me my life back as I was a wreck with both depression and GAD.. what works for some people doesn't work for everyone...it depends on our chemistry I guess..
Hey,
I just started on Lexapro 10mg and started my first experience with a therapist. This is day 8 on it. At first I experienced the yawning, nausis and Some Hot flashes, that went away after day 5 since then I think it is improving. I still feel light headed but that is getting better. The side effects so far are a piece of cake as long as you understand that they are the side effects. Keep me posted on how you do on it I would be curious to here how you feel. Stay positive and remember it can take at least a month to start working in your system.
Andy

lexapro is the only pill I've ever taken and when I first stared it was great and i felt full of life, courage, and carizma.. but like any other pill i would assume that you hit a level plain to where your able to just deal the feelings and pain of what ever is hurting us.. but i stopped taking them and decided to battle my demons!! the lord is a great power once he's understood!! but i also bought a book called THE SECRET my cousin turned me on to. and it helped to kinda rest my mind.. i hope i helped god bless man! and don't think i'm a missionary or anything he's just shown me he's grace is good AND WILL FOR ANYONE!! check the book out man its cool too! email me if you want. tothewall_34***@**** kinda would like to ask you something i don't want want anyone else to see.
Hey Man,
Lexapro is a good option to try, part of the problem with GAD and Anxiety & Panic attacks is what works for me may not work for you. Your doc is doing a smart thing trying new therapies. I was on Lexapro for a while and was able to get my condition under control to the point where I only need to take a Xanax on those really horrible days. If you have any specific questions or need support let me know I am very versed in SSRI's and Benzos.
Seth
also if anyone is currently taking it id love to speak on the phone and be a support system for each other.
