ssri's and anxiety

hello all i have been on 40mg celexa and .05 klonopin for a few months now. I feel that the ssri doesnt relly touch the anxiety ,and without the klonopin i would still be anxious! Does anyone get anxiety relief from there ssri alone? i know many people take 2 or more meds and I just wanted to know if im on the right track. any input would be great!

thanks again mammo u always help me out ;) bless u! i almost think that if i go up to 60mg of celexa it will make anxiety worse? Im fairly new to this i only realized i was dep anxious the beginning of september! i was diagnosed with chronic migraines back in april and the fear of the headaches is what spun me into the dep/anxiety which i hear is common with chronic anything! mammo your feedback helps alot!

Yes, it does help with your anxiety.  Most of us take an anxiety medication and an antidepressant.  Glad to hear the Klonopin is helping you!

thanks mammo i will see him next week! he did say that eventually i could go up to 60mg of celexa? Mammo did u ever hear of anyone on this dosage? I am only on celexa since oct 26th after swiching from lexapro due to insurance. so it been a month! but i was on lex for 5 weeks before that. i feel good taking the klonopin in the morning at the same time as my celexa. im just wondering is the celexa supposed to work on my anxiety? just confused i guess?

Hi Anthony.  It may be that your antidepressant is no longer working for you, and your doc needs to up the dosage or change medications.  Call him, he always needs to know if you are experiencing any problems while on the meds.  He will know what is best for you.  Take care!
