what am i going through ???

i have mild headache almost everyday now from a week. i have been stressing a lot about my health and career recently(spent around 8-10 hours a day worrying). my headache feels like a band on my forehead and just above my neck. its not very painful but its discomforting.back of my neck also feels stiff. i dont feel week/fatigued. i wake up fine and go to the gym . i am fine in the gym but when i get ready and sit to study the discomfort starts. it goes away when i lie down. and i can sleep fine at night. i am worrying a lot. sometimes i get nervous about random things. i dont take any medicines for this. Do i need to worry about this headache or is it just tension headache?? it usually goes away when i indulge in things and forget about it but it comes back again when i worry. Is this normal with anxiety ??

Any reason why this is happening now?  If you can figure out a reason you can deal with it better.

i have started meditating recently which has helped a lot with my anxiety. but still i dont feel positive as i used to before.. trying to work on it..this headache is very mild.. and goes away when i sleep. i do weight training at the gym. its something i love to do. i have been weight training for quite a few years now and i am pretty sure the neck is nothing i got from the gym. but as you explained it can definetly be a posture issue. I work on laptop and from past month have been on bed with laptop.. I ll try to sit on a chain and a high table and see if it helps.. thanks..

You might have sinus headaches in which case you need sinus medication or maybe sinus rinse like saline solution. One sign of sinus is to push your forehead above your eyebrows and if it hurts that is sinus but there is more to the sinus than just testing that spot. Mine are always sore so I don't touch them.
See doc if you want to find which kind it is.
This is something I've learned recently because my neck is a total mess, but sometimes things you do at the gym bite you as you age.  You never know.  I don't know if this is an issue, just that it might be, especially if you've added something new.  Most of us don't really do our weight training with the best form, but it doesn't bite us, again, until we move up in weight to the point it becomes a nuisance and then our form can betray us.  Again, just a possibility, I really don't know.  I also learned about this posture thing, which is that whenever you tilt your head down at an angle, as we do when we use computers and especially when we look at cell phones, the weight of the head on the cervical spine increases hugely.  Again, just a possibility -- I grew up on typewriters and we we took typing classes that taught us posture and how to hold our hands.  With computers and cell phones, nobody does that.  Good luck.

If you're worrying 8 hours a day you have a bigger problem than that headache, don't you think?  It sounds like it may be a neck problem -- could be something you're doing at the gym, could be your posture, could be craning your neck often while using your computer and looking at your cell phone, currently creating an epidemic of neck and head pain.  I have this problem, but my neck is shot -- I'm old and it's worn away but that's why I say it sounds like it's coming from the neck based on your description.  Now, this can also be caused by anxiety, which can tighten muscles especially in that very sensitive head and neck area.  As for what's normal with anxiety, when it becomes a chronic problem nothing is normal with anxiety.  Every anxiety sufferer suffers in his or her own way, but anxiety isn't the cause of everything.  We can only give you some ideas for what might be the issue here, but the worrying is definitely an issue even if you didn't have neck and head pain.  Ever thought about trying meditation?  What do you do at the gym?  Ever thought about therapy?

And a massage therapist or chiropractor or someone like that can feel around your neck and head area and tell you if your muscles there are all knotted up or if your mobility is less than it should be, which might indicate a posture problem or something you're doing at the gym.
