I was listening to an anxiety podcast today in my car... and this Dr. actually said that derealisation is a good thing when having anxiety. It's the bodies way of kind of shutting down the mind (not really) and helping it cope.
At least that's what I got out of it. lol.
Think positive about it. =) It will leave eventually.
Exercise doesn't work at all for me
Mr green is correct, but I would add just a few other suggestions. You see, all the stress response causes chemical imbalances and strong nerve impulses. You know, tense muscles, irritable bowel, sleep probs., etc. We all know the routine. Well, also the brain chemicals that help with perception, thoughts and feelings are also affected by the chemicals. That's what the theory of anxiety and depression meds. are built on. Not a quick fix and no fix for me at all. Would also add that to counter with some good endorphins try exercising and getting outdoors. Go slowly cause I know you feel strange and funky and only do it in familiar and safe places. Anyway, gotta go for now- hope it helps and hope you find peace of mind as we all try for. later, GG
Thank u mr green for your response

Not a nice answer to give someone with a serious problem bjfoste. If you don't know what they are asking maybe you would be best advised ignoring their question.
To rapso. Sounds like derealisation. Common part of anxiety and panic attacks. There is no miracle cure for it. Most times it just goes away. It can be like things can seem further away. Noises are louder. Lights are brighter and the likes. Surreal. At best you can approach your doctor. Talk it over and see what he has to say. He may refer you to a therapist who might teach you some coping methods. Forms of distractions when this comes on. Or even how to change the way you think when you feel it coming on. When it does hit you react in a certain way. Thoughts can race through the mind. Then you may begin to sweat it up a bit. Theraphy can help change all or just one of these. As they all have a knock on effect. Are linked to each other. But what you are going through many others have gone through too. It is far from crazy. More common that you might imagine.
