High ASO TITRE

Hi,

I'm a 32 years old. I got married last year and got a baby exactly after 9 months. I had been sports manic but for the last 5 years I did not play any sports. My problem is that I  have stiffness in my shoulders, chest, and hip muscles. I lifted heavy weight about years ago and I got pain there. I went to a doctor. He advised me a few laboratory tests. All of them were ok except one that is ASO TITRE. Its higher than 200 and less than 400. He put me on prednisolone for a month as well as on some other pain killers. I did not go back to Doctor eventhough my symptoms were not gone. This winter my muscles pain hit me again. Again I went to the same doctor and my ASO Titre is again higher than 200 and less than 400. Again he put me on the same prednisolone and some pain killers.

What should I do now? The doctor who is treating me is Orthopedic. Is he ok for my problem ? Shouldn't I go to Rheumatologist? If not then which doctor should I visit for this problem? I'm so worried. I can not even sit on hard floor because my hip bones hurt.

Help me.

I've been on the medication and my doctor told me to take 5mg Prednisolone 3 times a day for 10 days and then twice a day for 10 days and then once a day for 10 days. Im also taking some pain killers. I can move all of my body parts in any direction. I dont have any problems moving my hands, arms, head, legs etc. the only problem I face is that my shoulder aches a lot. That's because I got pain while I was lifting some heavy weight about 2 years ago. Since then I have pain in my shoulders and near the shoulders at nights. I can not raise my hands for long time. I fell pain after 4 or 5 minutes. I also feel pain in my hips and around them. Interestingly when I wake up in the morning I feel so little pain and sometimes NO pain but I feel as Im having temperature.

Should I consult a Rheumatologist or Orthopedic doctor?

Dear halak,
If the ASO titres are high, this shown that you may be having RA.
I would suggest you to take the treatment in a proper coordinated manner as if you don't take medicines like Prednisolone in a proper tapering manner, it may cause real bad results. Hence would suggest you to consult your present treating doctor and take planned medications.
All the other symptoms will disappear quickly.
Regards
