right shoulder, no bruising, great pain when rubbing skin gently

Hi guys,

I don't even know what I have, so I'm posting it here hoping it matches arthritis.

Symptoms:
1)  Great pain in my right shoulder near the edge and to the back.
2)  The pain is not generated by any motion
3)  The pain is only when the skin is rubbed, even when it's very gentle.
4)  It's been a month now.
5)  I played basketball and it didn't change/impact the pain or symptoms.  No worse, no better.
6)  There is NO BRUISING or redness whatsoever.  A pimple showed up a couple weeks in and I thought that was it, but the pimple's gone and the pain's still there.
7)  I can only describe the pain as that irritating ache that comes from having a pimple that's deep under the skin and won't come up.
8)  I used to do weightlifting, though I haven't in months.

Facts:
I'm 27, healthy, no diseases.  I spend a lot of time in front of a computer.  I'm overweight (107 kilos).  I recently pulled the ligaments in my left ankle (an old injury) while playing basketball, then promptly pulled the ligaments in my right one (this one is new) a few weeks later when I played basketball again.

I think that after an exhausting hour of play, my ankles just aren't strong enough to carry my weight.

I smoke, drink on weekends.  I sleep on my side in bed, and for the last month I've only been able to sleep on my left shoulder.  However the pain is still only in my right shoulder.

I don't know what this could be, I've never experienced anything like it before.  Can anyone help?

Dear septem,
I don't think it's arthritis. Because you are too young to get an arthritis.
It could had been a rotator cuff tear also. But you have specifically said that it doesn't pains while doing motion.
Really difficult to diagnose.
I would suggest you to get an X-Ray done followed by MRI/Bone scan as per the X-Ray report.
You need to consult a good orthopaedician as he will be able to pin-point the correct problem.
I can confirm you the diagnosis based on the investigation i have said.
So contact me/post in this forum, after you have done your X-Ray.
Regards
