Arthtis with kidney desease

Hello,
My dad is 59  years old and having both knees arthritis, the more painful thing is he has also developed kidney problem and his kidnies are functioning only 25%. cratanine level is almost 4.5
Kindly advise how do we get rid of the joint pain without going for surgory and also have the kidnies not affected further with the medication :(

pl suggest as he is having unbearable pain.

Does he know what kind of arthritis he has (there are over 100 different kinds)?  If so, has he had his bloodwork tested for any auto-immune issues?  He needs a total work up, hopefully by a rheumatologist, and may need immune suppressant drugs to help his kidney issues and to stop any further disability.
