Does this work for men who do physical labor?

Recommended I have this ITRI surgery on both thumbs, right this year, followed by left a couple of years from now. I have RA complicated by DA. Problem is my job involves heavy labor, 12 hour shifts, minimum 48 hours a week. I'm working with 50-75# loads every 5-10 minutes all day. I don't see how I can possibly return to work after having this surgery. The research seems to suggest it would work fine if I had an office job. Anyone doing heavy labor been successful with this? Right hand is almost useless already, pain intolerable.
