That must be extremely frustrating. the one thing you think could be high and they did not test for it. Rest and hydration are a good plan. If you have not already done so, call the doctor and see if they ran that test and if they didn't ask them to do so. Keep us posted.
Thanks TxSilver,
I'm all confused, the RH. factor came back neg.. (that's good) I was trying to read my Uric Acid score on the Blood cumulative report but it appears that they didn't test for that?
It shows the range but I didn't see any test results. I'll just wait and see what they say.
Will be back in shortly and see what they think. I'm trying to get all the rest and hydration I can at this point.
I am glad the link was helpful. If you have not gotten a second opinion on your knuckles, I would do so. 10 years is a long time to suffer! Cherries are being studied for antiinflammatory properties and many with arthrtis feel they are helped by eating them. I believe they have helped me. I think you are on the right track. Key now is finding a doctor who will listen to you and work with you. Based on what you have written, you probably want to try to find a doc who is open to alternative therapies. Many doctors will discount them. Mine thinks it is all bunk, but has no problem with me taking anything I want as long as he knows what I am adding. For me, that is good enough :)
BTW, I forgot to thank you for the great link..;-)
My best,
Dan
Thanks,
I'm doing that, I do know that in conjunction with the Protein powder, I was eating lots of Sushi and fish..I will get to the Dr. right now, I'm drinking lots of water, eating the cherry extract and
taking milk thissle...I hope I can get this taken care of, I really don't want to take nsaid's but may have too . I've had the burning , slightly swollen knuckles for over ten yrs, every Dr. told me it was just nerves..;-( I just had a RH. work up and it Neg, I wonder why the Dr. wasn't concerned? Now I'm pissed and she's going to get a piece of my mind. Well, maybe I'd better be nice..
I am glad you are going to the doctor. While Gout is notorious for causing pain in your big toe, it can also affect your hands. You should also try to eat low purine foods. In the Health Pages located at the top right of this forum you will find tips for Gout.
