I am a 29 year wife and mother of one.
I go through bouts of joint pain & stiffness and have since I was young. It all started with wrist pain & weakness when I was in my early 20's. I have always been pretty strong, but when I have this wrist stiffness and pain it is like an inflammation and I just lose all strength in my wrist. I cannot do things like open up jars or pop bottle that other people open easily. This still happens.
It's like a visitor comes and settled snugly in my knees, ankles, wrists and fingers. I wake up stiff and my joints snap and click a lot. It's loud and my husband can hear my joints snap well. I do not purposely snap my joints and have never made a habit of doing so. The snapping comes with normal activity such as getting up from a sitting position or rolling over in bed and is most painful in my hip region. In my knees I feel what can only be described as a creaking door hinge in my knee. Like a hinge the needs oil you can feel the resistance when my knee moves. Does that description make sense at all?
The joints in my hands feel tight and constricted when I make a fist and so do my feet when I wake up. My feet do seem to get better as the day goes on, but not my hands.
I have also noticed that during these bouts of all over joint pain I have hot flashes. Not sure if they are related. Doctor had concerns about Low Body Temp because I was temping at 95.7 and 97.1 for three separate visits. Lost my insurance so was not able to investigate any further. Will be getting insurance back in September:)
I have had my Thyroid checked and was normal.
My BP is generally on the lower end.
I have never broken any bones or been in any bad accidents to explain serious bone or joint pain. Over the counter pain meds do nothing to help the pain.
Does this sound like arthritis or something else?
