visible nodul

About 3 weeks ago I found a nodul on my finger.   I went to the doctor's and he wants me to have blood test to rule out rheumatoid arthritis.  I had an x-ray of the other hand because two of my finger's joints (the ones below the nail) hurt when I move them but he couldn't reveal anything important.  I'm very worried about it I know it's a serious disease.  It's a nodul on the finger's joint always means rheumatoid arthritis???

I wouldn't think so, but I have never experienced that type of issue.  It could be inflammation in the joints and not be very serious.  Keep us posted.

No, I don't think a nodule always means RA. My Mom doesn't have RA, but she has spent a lifetime as a very active seamstress, which means a lot of repetitive motion in her fingers, wrists, elbows, shoulders, etc. She also developed nodules.

Do you know if it's a nodule on the bone (aka a bone spur) or a nodule in the tendon or soft tissue? If it's a bone spur, surgery can help. If it's soft tissue, an injection of steroid along with daily massage, could help dissolve it.  I've had nodules on hand tendons, and often I can get rid of them just by consistent massage.
