Hi uric acid will cause gouty arthritis, and you can get terrible pain in your great toe, so much that even the sheet touching it hurts. A blood test can find it and it can be controlled with  a med such as allopurinol.

If you do a google search on high uric acid symptoms a bunch of things come up....
I don't know much about it other then possible kidney stones and/or gout like pain.
