Kissing after Strep Throat

I was diagnosed with Strep Throat Wednesday and began antibiotics that night. When is the soonest I can kiss my boyfriend without getting him sick (long distance relationship and he arrives Friday night)?

Also, you do not mention if you are sexually active or not, but it you are, remember that some antibiotics can interfere with birth control pills.  So, if you are sexually active and on the pill, use another form of birth control.

Hi and thanks for using the forum.

Usually, you are considered to be no longer contagious after 48 hours on antibiotics.  However, I cannot guarantee you that your boyfriend won't get it.  Good luck and hope you feel better soon.  Also, as a side note, be sure to get rid of your toothbrush once you are on the antibiotics for 48 hours.  This will help prevent you from getting Strep again.  Good luck.
