Sore Nose

The end and lower bridge of my nose gets so sore I cannot touch it. Usually at the same time, I seem to get pimples inside my ears that are very painful. What causes my nose to hurt so bad? I have not been hit in the nose.

Hi and thanks for using the forum.

Could it be that you have a pimple developing on or in your nose as well?  This would make your nose sore and tender to touch.

Thank You. The soreness on and around my nose does not have the feel of a pimple. It is not sore on the inside.  It turns red and swells slightly, as with sinusitis or similar to an infection.  The pain is very intense if touched, radiating toward my ear. It's duration is about a week and then subsides, but continues to occur over, and over again.

I think you should try seeing an ENT.  What you have described does sound like it could be an infection (a cellulitis?) that keeps flaring up and calming down.  The only other possibility that I could think of was something like shingles, which can be very painful and travels along nerves.  If you think this could be a possibility, then see your regular primary care doctor when it is flaring up (it tends to be easier to get an appointment with your primary care doctor on short notice as compared to an ENT).  If everything checks out with the primary care, then you can schedule an appointment with the ENT.  Keep me posted.
