The rhythm method (natural family planning) involves tracking your menstrual cycle to determine when it is "safe" to have unprotected sex (when you are trying to NOT conceive). You would need to track your cycle to see how many days your cycle lasts and then using that information figure out when your fertile days are. IF you do not want to get pregnant you have to either abstain from sexual intercourse during those fertile days or use a barrier form of birth control during that time (such as condoms). It really has to do with how long your typical cycle is (ie. 26 days, 28 days, 32 days) and not so much based on when you got your period. Good luck.
