Hi and thanks for using the forum.

Left side/back pain is a fairly vague symptom in that it can be caused by a number of things.  However, I would say that most frequently this type of pain is caused by urinary issues such as a urinary tract infection or a kidney stone.  Your urine should be clear or light yellow in color, however this does not mean that you don't have a UTI (especially an early one) or a kidney stone.  I think that you have had this pain for long enough that you should probably see your health care provider.  They can do a urine test to start and rule out any urinary problems with that.  Good Luck and hope you feel better soon.

About four weeks I had pains in my left side and round into the lower left side of my back.. The doc thought i had a uti and gave me antibiotics, the pain stopped. A couple of weeks ago the pain came back, but i also have occastionally a pain in my right side. I went back to the doctor who put me on the pill due to the timing of when this pain starts but I still hav the pain especially in my left side. For the last couple of days my left side feels like there is something pushing on my side. If i lay on my left side i get a discomfort. Also for the last couple of days i get occasionally a tightness in my chest where the breast bone is. could the two be linked in any way? what could it all be?
