Allergic to everything

Hi. About 5 years ago I developed skin and sinus allergies to everything. Every fragrance free shampoo. Conditioner. Lotion. Oils  I've tried everything. Been patch tested  but still having all these allergies. I have what I think is exzema all over my face. Burns. Flaking very dry. What could be going on?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
The reason why one might, over time, develop more and/or more severe allergies.  The same can be said of Eczema although medical experts now have a much greater understanding of the mechanism of this disease and its treatment.

That you have been patch tested suggests that you are under the care of an allergist or dermatologist.  The first step should be to speak with your physician to determine if he/she has exhausted all diagnosis/treatment efforts and if Eczema is the correct diagnosis.  If that is the case then you and your doctor should consider consultation with a Dermatologist, ideally one with an avid interest in this disease, at the nearest University Medical Center.

If that consultant’s efforts are ineffective, you and he/she should consider further consultation with physicians at National Jewish Health (formerly National Jewish Center) in Denver, Colorado who have treated and engaged in research on Eczema for many years.

Good luck
