Thanks for letting me know, I guess the retention cysts are (mucous balls)!! Not much to worry about. Good luck with the neurologist, look up migraines it is amazing what migraines symptoms are.
A mucus retention cyst is a small sac that most commonly occurs in the maxillary sinus of people with a history of inflammatory disease. It occurs in 10% of the population. It is the result of inflammatory obstruction of a seromucinous gland within the sinus mucosal lining, often due to chronic sinusitis. Treatment focuses on the chronic sinusitis, rather than the cyst itself.
I saw my ENT yesterday she said she thought the sphenoid cust was an incidental finding and probablay has nothing to do w/ my symptoms. I have to get a CT of the temporal bones. She said she was pretty sure that it would be negative but wants to rule out everything else before she sends me to a neurologist for migrains. I don't know what is going on but I do not think it is migrains.

My doctor just started me on flonase and said to do the saline sinus rinses daily. She said to follow up if the vertigo continues. It still does continue. Please let me know what your ENT says.
Denise-
I have been waking up almost nightly with severe sharp left ear pain that sometimes goes away upon awakening and other times turns into a headache. I am going to the ENT in the morning, I am hoping to find a solution. What are your doctors doing for you??
Hi,
That is the same thing I was just told I had following an MRI. Do you have any symptoms or problems that led you to get the CT?
I have been suffering with vertigo for the last 7 months.
What did you doctor elect to do with the retention cyst?
Thanks,
Denise
