I assume that you have experienced the symptoms of “mild gastritis”. That would not cause numb fingers or symptoms of a lack of oxygen but, in most cases, would require the continuation of Prilosec for 3-6 months. If the pain were severe enough or aggravating enough that could make you feel short of breath, despite your having normally functioning lungs.
The most common cause of awaking with numbness of the fingers would be, having slept in a position that caused there to be pressure put upon one or more nerves in the arm-pit or arm itself. However, it is also possible that you could be hyperventilating in your sleep and such over-ventilation can also cause numbness of the fingers and around one’s mouth.
Having previously been diagnosed with asthma, it is highly likely that asthma, possibly aggravated at night by acid reflux (from your stomach), is the cause of your night-time shortness of breath.
I suggest that you do two things: 1) prop yourself with pillows so as to be less likely to twist or otherwise compress your arm and shoulder and, 2) that you consult with your current doctor or with the doctor who diagnosed and treated your asthma, to engage in optimum management of the asthma.
Good luck
me too. and i have the hypoxemia. my left hand and fingers are numb right now, and i sometimes don't feel enough to be able to type in the computer.
oh, you are young, see , i don't have the other pains too much. i used to have bulemia and eating disorders, anorexia, but that was years ago. it messed up my stomach though, and so i take zantac for that. prilosec is better. i have no eating disorder anymore for a long time, years and years. but the respiratory thing, asthma, severe. breast feeding, well, i am long past mother stage, i am nearly sixty, and my left hand is the one that gets numb, isn't that when the veins are returning blood more, i mean , on that side of the body, to the heart? i don't know , but they always ask with heart things, about which side. let me know what you find out, maybe its good for us both. good luck. try an air filter machine in the house.
ask the doctor, maybe zantac could hurt the baby, ok? ask first. i forgot to tell you that
Thanks a lot for your comments.
I do run air filter at home running all the time, I just had all the mattress covered with dust mite protector, then, I feel that works for my dust mist allergy as recommended by my doctor.
By the way, how do you treat your hypoxemia? Have you had heart function test for that?
I thought this website is checked by the doctors, I was also expecting comments from the doctors though...
