Do allergies typically attract EXTREME headaches?

I have airborne allergies, such as dust/pollen and so forth, and every year around this time, I get my allergy attacks;however, this year they came with KILLER headaches. They pain was in the area of my temples, and they persist throughout the day. Generally they are most severe when I am in the light, but they have woken me up from sleeping a few times. I went to see my Family Physician, who prescribed me Nasonex and Zyrtec, but it seems as if the Zyrtec is making things WORSE!

These are the most painful headaches I have EVER experienced in my life. They are about an 9.5 on a scale of 1-10 (10 being highest).

What should I do?

I get bad headaches that are related to allergies - but are due to congestion in my sinuses when the weather is changing.  The doctor said that b/c my allergies keep my sinsus so congested - that the pressure can't equalize very well when the barometric pressure changes - thus producing a headache.  I used to find that taking both pseudoped (The brand name original red tablets) plus advil would usually relieve my pain.  However, he doesn't want me to do that anymore since I already take allegra D for allergies and that has pseudophed in it.  The thing that really helped me the most was taking my nasal inhaler/spray (Nasonex is the brand that works best for me) EVERY SINGLE Day.  If I don't take it - I can definintely tell - and have more headaches.  I still will get one - usually when the rain is moving in - and it is almost always relieved immediately when it starts raining.  You might want to try and notice if yours occur around weather changes.  They do wake me up / keep me up at nights.  Hope this helps.  Good luck.

By the way, I am also not sure that my headache IS allergy related, me and my doctor (GP) are assuming that it is;however, it could just be that I had the rotten luck of getting a headache at the same time as my allergies were at their worst.

I also want to know if this could POSSIBLY be cluster headaches? I have experienced migraines/headaches and sinus headaches before, and the pain for this FAR surpasses that of a migraine. It's about the same level of pain as when I first broke my arm.
