The values you cite are quite abnormal, including the RDW (red blood cell distribution width), that is a measure of the variation in size of your red blood cells.   A high RDW indicates that the red blood cells are more variable in volume than normal.  You are definitely anemic and the elevated RDW is consistent with an iron deficiency anemia, possibly of recent onset.

It is quite important that the cause of your anemia be found, either by the doctor who ordered the test or by a Specialist in Internal Medicine or a Hematologist.  You should discuss this with your doctor, without delay.

Your blood also shows a markedly elevated Sedimentation Rate (ESR).  This is an indicator of inflammation in your body.  It may or may not be associated with the anemia but the cause of it must also be diagnosed.

My overall message is that these are grossly abnormal findings and it is very important that you be seen by a doctor with the knowledge and expertise to discover what is going on.  The “tonsil and cold related symptoms since childhood” are likely to be associated with both the anemia and the elevated ESR.  As part of your work-up for these abnormalities, it would also be wise for your doctors to check on your immune system.  You might want to share this message with them.

Good luck
