How prevalent are mold allergies? I have had the same symptoms cough, sore throat, sinus infection, respiratory infection, ear infection, headache, extreme fatigue twice in the past two months and just recently found mold in my carpets in my bedroom. Am I being paranoid or should I look into this more closely? Thanks!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
For your sister:

What you describe sounds serious;  maybe a “chest cold” or bronchitis or maybe even pneumonia.  At this point you should have a Chest X-ray, examination of the mucous you are coughing-up and a blood count.  It sounds like your doctor has done his best to cure your illness but the infection has not responded to the antibiotics and you are no better. I believe it  might be a good time for you to see another doctor for a second opinion.

An ordinary cold should have cleared by now so it is likely that this is a more serious problem; one that may require yet another antibiotic.

Good luck
