Anxious/health anxiety prone person stressing about wheezing

Hi all,
So this is my very first post on a forum like this (Have read tons but never did my own)
So some background if it'll help. Have had anxiety/health anxiety for about 2 years. Doing much better but around Sept/Oct this year developed bronchitis which is something I've never had before. Doctor reckons it may have been smoke inhalation (at a BBQ) whilst having a cold/cough which brought this on.

My bout of acute bronchitis was rather severe as I had a really violent cough which caused 2 ER visits due to torn muscles from all the coughing (at the time I thought something else was wrong when I had stomach muscle spasms) so this goes to show my bronchitis was quite hectic at the time.
Now, after recovery from bronchitis, I have this recurring wheeze. It normally starts as a tickle in my throat, which prompts some coughing (dry, echoing couch) and 10 minutes or so later I will feel tight chested and have a terrible wheeze. If I cough at this point it almost feels like my throat closes up for a split second.

This has been coming and going on and off ever since. Aircon brings it on, as well as dust or smoke inhalation (By the way, I've never had asthma in my life and I have never smoked a cigarette either!) So this is why this is causing me to stress so much! And the increased anxiety of wondering whether something is wrong also causes my throat to close up so it makes everything 10 times worse!!! I am on no meds at the moment but I have a bronchidilator cough syrup which I take if the wheeze starts and usually it goes away in about 30 - 40 minutes.
Funny thing is, I don't experience a ton of phlegm when this happens. Just the wheeze and a closed throat feeling which sends me in a panic.

Should I be worried or could this just be after effects of very bad bronchitis? Will this eventually resolve (with or without an inhaler - it doesnt really matter!) or will I have this problem for life??
Like I said, sometimes I go days without it happening and I think YAY ! ITS GONE! Then it will return again out of the blue. Scared to breathe in fear of inhaling something that will worsen it!

Quite stressed and again... health anxiety is sky high.

Please help :(
