Shortness of Breath

Threee months ago I had Flu which precipitated in Asthma. This has been my story for last many years but this year my condition does not seem to be improving. I have had all kinds of Blood tests , Allergy test , X rays , Lung function test and Ct scan . All are normal. I am on QVAR, Salmetrol 50 , Theodur
9 THeophyline) and I still feel shortness of breath. Doctor believes it is Asthma but at time I feel he is confused since MY PEFR values are approx 540 .
Can some one guide me ......

I also feel tase of blood in my mouth though I have never seen it. Is it an effect of medicines???
I asked my doctor but he dint seems like concerned. I guess if there was anty anatomical problem it should have reflected in CT .I dont know if this assumption is correct.

Hello and welcome.  Others may jump in with some more input, but from my experience it can take months for the lungs to heal after an episode as you describe. They lag behind a long time in healing after the physical illness is gone.  Perhaps you may want to be followed by a pulmonolgist for PFT tests on a regular basis to ascertain you are on the right meds (that's my advice if you are seeing your general doc for this, etc.)

Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing and WELCOME!
