Exercise Induced Asthma

Little history, I am 27 male and little overweight but overall healthly. I have been to cardio nothing wrong with my heart. So my quesiton is, I have tried running and moved on to Mountain Biking and with both sports after doing it hard for a while i get pain in my center of my chest and it makes it hard to breath. My question is If i dont have asthma is it possible to have EIA? So when I am biking or running i have to constently stop. Or is it possible I am just out of shape? I have been mountain biking for 7 months now with no real endurance improvment.....

Have you tried using an inhaler about 30 minutes before exercise to see if it makes a difference?  A pulmo could also check you for EIA.  If you are just out of shape, you should see improvement if you go slowly with your training...  If it's asthma, and you don't treat it, you probably won't.
