Tight chest and Burning sensation

I have had asthma for 7 years and it is not getting any better. Lately I begin to have constant burning sensation along my trachea. Currently I take Advair and Pro-air for my asthma and I am wondering if they have any thing to do with it. I would like to limit the amount of medication that I inhale or take due to possible side effects, so if anyone knows of any remedy that might treat this burning sensation, then please reply back to me.

Thanks

You should talk to your doctor about this. Only he/she will know what is going on with you and how to correct it.  Never stop or start a medication without doctors approval.  But do tell him you would like to decrease the amount of medication you are taking, he may be able to find you something else.  Hope this helps.

Make sure you are gargling and rinsing well after each inhalation.

If you are using HFA inhalers, a spacer may help the medication to reach your lungs instead of hitting the back of your throat.

You can also try tilting your head up (try looking at a clock) to lessen the 90 degree turn the medication has to make otherwise.

Any decrease in medication should be done with the help of your doctor and slowly.  Most of the time they are willing to decrease medication as long as there isn't an increase in symptoms.
