bronchocnstriction and oral ulcers

I am a 29 year old female RN who works in an ICU setting. I have had asthma all my life, and bronchitis at least once a year. This last year, however, 3 times in the last 5 months, I have started out with major oral ulcers (2-3) and 3 days later,  I start wheezing and having swelling in my tracheal area. This always follows with sore throat, lymph node enlargement and sometimes strep throat. Any ideas?

That's doesn't really sound like typical asthma symptoms, with the addage of swelling, sore throat, etc.  I'd probably take the time to make an appointment for yourself.

As an RN you know far more about medicine than most of us but I was wondering if your exposure to disease on your job could be causing the problem. There always seems to be some new "bug" going around.

I hope you feel better.
