Sounds like good news. Please keep us updated how it goes.
Thanks for you time and opinions I finally got some one to take time to evalutate her and they are talking about autism just what I thought hopefully we get the help that we need for her education!!!!
The posting above is right on! Definitely contact your local school district to conduct and evaluation to determine if there is a need for special education services. You can call the district to find out the name of the person you need to contact to put in such a request. Put your request in writing and they are legally bound to conduct the evaluation within 60 or 90 days, I forget which. Either way it is 2-3 months.
So you see some developmental delay. This may not necessarily be autism. What you can do is contact your local school district office and ask for the "child-find" special education office. Every district is required to have a "child-find" program. This is a spec ed program to seek out children with special needs. Have them set up a referal for an M-team evaluation. This has nothing to do wioth the doctor. This is the school district. The key is you gotta locate the "child find" office and go from there.
The m-team can determine if special education services is needed. If you disagree with the findings, you can have an independent evaluation done at the school district expense. But we can cross that bridge if we get there.
I know persons with Aspergers syndrome which is similar to autism. They tend to be a master of the language. Very good and accurate vocabulary. Actually, I find these children and adults a delight to be around.
Please help if any of your children who havbe been diagnosed with any type of autism and shows the same symptoms plaese give me some advice, even if they are not common to what my chid has been experiencing please if you can give me some advice that would be great!!!
