My 2 1/2 year old toddler

Well, my 2 1/2 year old son, has developmental delay. He has been tested, but he has not been diagnosed with autism or adhd or anything. His pediatrician has stated he does not have autism, because, she has done the tests she needed to rule that out. So, now he's going through speech therapy and cognitive therapy. I feel he is just as smart as any other child his age, however, he cries and whines constantly, if he's not watching T.V. He moves his and fingers strangely. He has not said mama or dada, but he can up to 10 words. He constantly pulls his ear, as if he talking on the phone. He will wave bye, bye and say hey or hi. He will play with other children. These are results from his evaluation; Gross motor-17 mths, Fine motor-20 mths., Receptive communication- 13 mths., expressive communication-10 mths.

Thanks for your support, Julie. He's not the only child, however, his sisters are 15 & 12. So they have no type of interaction with him. Yes, speech therapy is in his plan of care.

It could just be that he is behind have you thought about getting speach theorpy?  Is he an only child?  sometimes only children are delayed because there is no interaction with other children.  I really wouldnt get to worried till he's five and still doing the same thing.  sometimes it just takes a little to get started.  Thoughts abd prayers are with you
