My 4 year old Autistic grandson is becoming more violent

My 4 year old grandson has been diagnosed with Autism and Sensory Perception Disorder, he has a 2 year old sister and a one year old brother.  He has been getting violent and the violence is increasing.  My daughter has put him on a gluten free-casein free diet.  That has helped some but the violent behavior is increasing toward his sister, brother and my daughter.  My daughter does not want to put my grandson on medication to control his violence and I do not know what if any medication he can take.  My daughter believes this can be controlled with diet and natural remedies.  My daughter just hung up on me because my grandson was attacking my granddaughter with toys because he was told to clean them up.  I told my daughter to let my granddaughter go and physically restrain my grandson but she sat on the floor and cried while holding my granddaughter.  My daughter has been trying to get my grandson help and he is receiving speech therapy and is supposed to receive behavioral and cognitive therapy but has not so far.  My daughter lives in Philadelphia and I live in Riverside, NJ. He did have an IEP done and was found to be 25% in learning.  What can be done to help with the situation short of me moving in there.  I have started earning my Graduate degree, attending a local Seminary in January.  Thanks!

Hi Di2284
I'm not very comfortable with the idea of giving a 4-year old antipsychotics and tranquilizers.
Has our society gone insane?

Have your daughter look into the Gut and  Psychology Syndrome (GAPS)
A GFCF diet may not be enough.
Every and any substance is suspect, until proven safe.
If macronutrients are entering the blood circulation due to intestinal permeability, it matters not what they are, they are ALL offensive!

A few more things to check out.
1. Low cholesterol levels, which is a very dangerous imbalance.
It may compromise hormonal production, vitamin D levels and
affect neurotransmitter balance.
2. He likely has impaired methylation, causing a huge list of issues!
If no genetic testing has been done, it's time now.
There are 2 MTHFR gene defects, which are predominately the ones linked to Autism: C677T and A1298C.
Either one of these can cause impaired Methylation, by not converting folate and B12 to their active forms.
Simple but specific supplementation can correct this, however the leaky gut and the underlying candida (yeast overgrowth infection) must be addressed, before anything works normally again in his little body.
3. Inadequate gastric acid may also be another factor to look into and correct.
A simple Betaine HCL challenge would verify this.
4.  Including virgin coconut oil in his diet, may help supply
preferred brain fuel, confirmed by many studies.
It is also antifungal, antiviral, antiparasitic and antimicrobial.

Forget the idea of moving there! Carry on with your plans
and my suggestion is that you try your best to support your daughter
with the decisions she's making.
This is a tough situation for the entire family to be in.
She's on the right path though, but perhaps needs help with a more comprehensive natural approach for her son.
Please consider sending her the link to this forum and ask her to read this
post and reply, if possible.
I can offer her a lot of specific information, how to go about the  things I mentioned here, if it all makes sense to her..
God Bless!
Niko
