I need some advise on my child *delay speech and communication*

Hi!
My son is 2 years and 2 months old, I took him to doctor, after assessment, she said he has delay speech, possible autistic. As of his age, he does not speak yet, in the of speak, he has not said, Dad, Mom, Pa or whatever, but some words he said would be " Pichip Pichip..... ect. which my wife and I dont understand at all. Regarding, his communication skill, he seems to know what he wants to do, eg. when he wants something he takes my hand toward it. He seems to understand my body language, but he wont look into my mouth or my eye when we are trying to teach him some words. Thus, I need some advise on how to teach him to speak and how to make him look into our eyes and concentrate on what we are trying to teach him.

i agree with hawkes543 get him to the speech therapists and soon he will be able to talk

Why are YOU trying to teach him?  Get him to the speech therapist now while he's still young!!!  Your insurance will cover it.  Also go to the regional center, they will provide free speech therapy between 0-3 years (if you don't know how to contact go ask the public school).  At 3 years the public school will take over. DO NOT WAIT!!!!!
