Introducing Health Pages

Hi,

We're happy to introduce our newest feature - Health Pages. Health Pages are public documents on health topics created in collaboration by MedHelp users. So much more than a dictionary, they can be a compilation of FAQs, a listing of relevant articles and news, a summary of recent research, or any other information that members of the community might find useful.

Health Pages were designed to be a collaborative effort to share information, so any user in the community can contribute by editing a Health Page.

Here are a few examples of Health Pages already created:

* Why could I be dizzy: http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/Ear+Nose+and+Throat/Why-could-I-be-dizzy/show/12?cid=59

* Common Pregnancy Acronyms: http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/Pregnancy/Common-Pregnancy-Related-Acronyms/show/1?cid=77

* MS Information: http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/Multiple+Sclerosis/MS-Information-and-Resources-Index/show/22?cid=36

All of these Health Pages can be edited and built upon. To view or create Health Pages in your community, just click on the "Health Pages" link in the top right hand corner of the community below the "Discussions" link.

This is a brand new feature that we're very excited about here, so please let us know what you think. Your feedback will be critical in helping future updates and enhancements.

yes!   Information is not useful if it's not organized.  Even encyclopedias are alphbetized.

I was thinking of more specifics like arranging by category such as: groups of articles pertaining to getting a first evaluation and what to expect in one category. Another catergory for living as an autistic person and possibly grouped either spearately or together with a checklist of symptoms.

It'd be nice to have a group of articles about adult autism and another for child autism.

That way if people are looking for something more specific they don't have to slog through articles that may not be related.

I'm not sure if this makes sense or not. I'm just throwing it out there.

Hi,

I'm not sure what the slowness is, it seems ok for me, but let me know if it's still happening. As for sorting, on the main Health Pages tab, you can sort by clicking on the column headers. So, sort by name, most viewed or the top rated pages.

Does anyone agree with this? I think would be nice if there was a way to order the articles, so lets say things most important can be on the top, or similar articles grouped.

It seems to be going very slow, like freezing up slow and then "typing" one letter at a time long after I've moved on to the next sentence or two. It seems to go slower than typing a normal post. That could be just my computer, but I'm not sure. It's like watching paint dry as I type. I guess I'll have to reboot my computer and try again.

the lionks are difficult to click or copy/paste.  The links on the individual words are taken as keyword links and they take priority.

So the word "pregnancy" turns into :

http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/PregnancyAdolescent pregnancy
Early weeks of pregnancy
Ectopic pregnancy
Fetal alcohol syndrome
First trimester of pregnancy
Gestational diabetes
Hydatidiform mole
Hyperemesis gravidarum
Melasma
Preeclampsia
Pregnancy - health risks/CommonCommon cold-PregnancyAdolescent pregnancy
Early weeks of pregnancy
Ectopic pregnancy
Fetal alcohol syndrome
First trimester of pregnancy
Gestational diabetes
Hydatidiform mole
Hyperemesis gravidarum
Melasma
Preeclampsia
Pregnancy - health risks-Related-Acronyms/show/1?cid=77

The above mess is an exact what the link copys and pastes as.
