I feel your child may benefit from professionals who only work in the field of the Spectrum. (Autism) Many doctors are too busy to notice or take the time for they are booked up, getting their patients in and out as a factory assembly to make the big bucks.
If you are able, try and locate a professionals within a teaching medical school. These are the ones who are trained well and would be most helpful in testing and diagnosing If and what your child may have.
Don't jump into any diagnosis, always get more than one opinion...I believe in the best out of three......then follow up with needed treatment.

Do u really thinks so? about the autism signs?
Because My 4 yr was just diagnosed and he has shown the signs for a long time now and they started little by little as he was getting older and more active... Stupid pediatrician just refused to see it at first.. but now we are getting the help we need from our central valley regional center....
I was concerned for Kisha89 in a different kind of way...
concidering that the changes were very sudden...
hmmm.... this is an interesting observation....
something to think about.... :)
I would definately call your local Early Intervention Regional Center to have him evaluated for developmental delays. A lot of the behaviors you describe are red flags for autism and it is worth getting checked up ASAP.
Good luck!
doesnt sound like autism to me... sounds more he experienced some kind of trauma.... maybe you should investigate about his experience with the grandparents... also seek for help with a childrens psychologist to get your child evaluated...
