childre's development

my granddaughter is 27 months and does not talk at all, she cannot point to anybody partsnor does she respond when u call her name, when she gets excited she flaps her arms i think she is autistic,i have raised six children and know her development is not normal, her parent's are in denial, of course there answer since she was anewborn was to put in front of the tv! help!

early intervention is very important and i would tell them that you think she has autism!! it wont be held against you alot of parents get offended but then end up being thankful

Well, when she goes to school sitting in front of the tv won't be an option. They'll evaluate her. Give her parents time. What is obvious to you may not be obvious to them. It is often very difficult for parents to come to terms with the fact that something is wrong with their child. She's still young and they have some time to figure it out.
