how do i get my 12 year old with downs to use the bathroom?

I think you should try every possible thing no matter if you feel silly. Kids love it when parents act silly and play around. Hope he gets potty-trained soon. Best of luck

It's  been rough for us as well. My son is 8 and still wears a pull up. He does go tothe bathroom, but still wets the pull up sometimes. He has downs and autism. I knowbthis sounds gross, but we let him watch my husband go and take him in there w/ him. Restarted this when he was 4 yes old. Wevtook him every 30 min. Wewould laugh, clap, dance and he thought this was great. There is no rule to potting. You have to try everything. Good luck.
