I've been sick for over 15yrs. I complained constantly to my family dr but he never seemed to care. He always made it seem that it was all in my head. I was way too young for anything serious. I'm 30 now soon to be 31. I've always had a problem with bowel movements, extreme weight loss, a few times weight gain, problems with my eyes, trouble sleeping, constant dizziness, extreme fatigue to the point I could fall asleep on my feet or barely able to keep my eyes open, extreme muscle pain and weakness, unreal mood changes, anxiety, profuse sweating, always pale, headaches, leg swelling and twice when I was younger I complained of not being able to move the left side of my face which was explained away as bells palsy. Within the last year all of these symptoms have hit me like a brick wall. I finally got a new dr and got very demanding. My blood tests never showed anything except low potassium or low vitamin d. Thyroid disease runs in my family so I demanded a thyroid scan which I had to fight with my dr to get. After reviewing the scan my dr called me and apologized. The scan showed without a doubt something was wrong, he said it was graves' disease. Only one member in my family had had it and he passed away from heart failure as a result cause he was never treated. Everyone else has hypo problems. A month later my gynecologist diagnosed me with factor 5 telling me I was missing 3 genes and that is why I've miscarried 5 times and also explained that more than likely I've passed blood clots when I told him about my sagging face problem I had twice, it was never bells palsy. I was on birth control too which could have killed me. So now that I've been given meds to help make things 'better' I'm still not feeling well. I started meds in July and I understand it takes a while but I'm really getting to the end of my rope here. Good days are far and few between. I can't take the dizziness, exhaustion, nausea, or moods anymore. Does anyone ever get better? I want a child, but how will that ever happen? I'm just stressed to the max. Tell me there's hope.
I have had Lupus for 10 years. The cold feet and hands are attributed to Reynaud's Syndrome. I was on 12 prescriptions. I talked to each of my doctors and weened offf of every medication. I went on a 28 days detoxification diet and am now Glutenfree and I feel remarkably better.
The name of a holistic nutritionist kept coming up and finally I thought - It's onl 28 days - what have I got to lose. I have since had several test done and am allergic to about 25 different food and several substances like nickle and cobalt in dental work which I have learned to avoid. My autoimmune test come back perfectly normal.
Your too young to give in. It's only 28 days. Give it a try. It may not work, but hopefully it will. At any rate - it's still only 28 days.
May be as simple as your diet. Have your PCP check you for Celiac Disease which is managed by diet. Also, research alkaline diets and get yourself on it. Mineral water with lemon. A cup of hot water (coffee/tea hot) with real lemon first thing in the morning. No coffee, No alcohol, No carbonated drinks...herbal tea, mineral water, alkaline water. Proper rest all that stuff. You are too young and your body is trying to tell you it is out of balance. This world is toxic and we are eating and drinking it every day! :0! Take care!!
I quit smoking 6 years ago after 31 years of smoking. I went to a hypnotist because a friend was successful many years prior with this approach. You have to be committed to quiting however and have a partner if possible to check each other or compete. The health issue is that smoking means that you are adding Benzene into your system by smoking and that could be a reason behind your immune problem. I have autoimmune hemolytic anemia which I am currently getting Rituximab treatments for. This has been a very hard 8 months. Have gone through every test to understand if there is any underlying cause to my type of anemia and so far nothing. Bone marrow biopsy, ct scan, colonoscopy and much more. All very nerve racking an exhausting. I keep coming back to smoking all those years and what it did to my body because I was very healthy and active until last March. I do feel good about one thing in all of this and that is that I did quit smoking.
Best of luck,
Tamkat
yes i know you are all correct...easier said than done.Just got back from having ct scan pain in right side its not my appendix they are unsure what is causing it...
You don't sound bossy, you are right. Obviously smoking is deadly regardless, but since I have been smoker for nearly 9 years on and off, would the cold hands and feet issue just all of a sudden just occur? I never knew anything about this side effect until yesterday so I am even more ready to quit!
How dumb am I? my grandpa died of lung cancer, that should be good enough you would think! The point is I am ready to quit and starting chantix starter pack tomorrow.
Thanks All!!!
Not to sound bossy, but quit smoking...I have never smoked but know people that do and they had the cold hands and feet, and most of the other symptoms. Smoking decreases the oxygen in your blood and not to mention the oxygen to all those around you. It depleates your body of all the good that it needs, please try and stop, it also takes 1 minute off your life for every cigarrette you put in your mouth.
You are sooooo right! I seen my doctor today and he put me on Chantix. He was shocked how cold my hands were and said the smoking needs to stop ASAP! He said he thinks it may improve the sensitivity I have to the littlest bit of cold, the circulation and all. I will do anything to feel normal again. Im sure you understand, thanks jennyoung:)
STOP SMOKING.Im one to talk, I smoke. But really, you will feel so much better if you stop. You will get less upper resp. infections You sound like me. I've hadso maany tests done for so many things. I quit smoking for a while and let me tell you, I felt so much better.
I am no expert, I am new to what ever disease I have also. With the months of research I have been doing it sounds like your showing symptoms of one of the many hundreds of different Autimmune disorder. We share similar symptoms. They are quite difficult to diagnose but ask your doc about it, you can show one symptom or twenty sympoms and have the same disease.
I am 27 and my symptoms came full force on July 1st 2007 and has been a guessing game since.
You said it in your last couple sentences that many of us feel the same way "You have good days, and bad days." Thats kinda with any disorder or disease but its my tag line now.
Keep the faith and keep asking questions and research as much as you can!! God bless!!
