Any ideas what this could be?

A doctor friend looked at this picture and told me to go to my doctor and be checked out for an Autoimmune disease.  Any other opinions before I go to my appointment would be greatly appreciated.  I had been experiencing a slight rash on my arms and then this showed up on my legs overnight.  They are warm to the touch and not especially raised.  Not too itchy, if at all.  I am extremely stressed right now, and I wonder if that has something to do with it.  No changes in diet or environment lately either.

It looks like hives. I had them once as a kid but the docs never figured out what caused them in my case. They did go away after awhile and have never came back. Made any drastic changes lately in any of the daily chemicals you use in your home or job or started any new medications?

Hives are a common reaction when you have an allergic reaction to a substance. Your body releases histamine and other chemicals into your bloodstream which causes itching, swelling, and other symptoms. They can also develop as a result of emotional stress. Good luck and I hope things go well for you!
