What is causing this? Ana screen 1.71 (0.0-1.00), Vitamin D 28.4 (<30), Glucose 120 (65-99), Total Protein 8.5 (6.0-8.3), Gamma 1.7 (0.7-1.5). On betablocker Bystolic for rapid heart rate.Mild enlargement of Left Ventricle. Mild sclerotic aortic valve. No alcohol consumption. All over joint pain. Female, 5"5, 222 lbs.Occasional shortness of breath. Possible mild asthma or COPD from PFT testing after a respiratory illness. One time elevated T4 for a couple of days. Thyroid in beginning of thyroid disease. Positive elevated thyroid antibodies. Fatty liver. All other tests within normal limits. Is this an autoimmune disease maybe?

Graves' disease or Hashimoto's thyroiditis. In some cases you can have both autoimmune diseases at the same time which is called Hashitoxicosis. Sometimes the labs can be normal as both diseases can mess with the labs. In my case I had subclinical hypo labs with major hyper symptoms due to Graves antibodies.

The term Hashitoxicosis is also used for the leakage symptoms of active Hashimoto's thyroiditis (in other words hyper symptoms show up on and off usually in the early stages of the disease). I had this type of Hashitoxicosis as well but it's not as bad as the hyper symptoms of Graves antibodies.

Hi cornhusker,

You do seem to be having a lot of issues with your health.  The ANA result you mention does not make sense - it is usualy either positive or negative with a titer number.  Maybe you should look at the results again or have a redo.  You do not mention your age but glucose is high suggesting type 2 diabetes, which would be making you feel pretty rough if not treated.  Are you taking vitamin D supplements?  I hope you can get some of these issues under control, take care of yourself.
