Fluid pockets all over knees

Does Lupus or Rheumatoid arthritis cause fluid pockets all over knees after standing or laying down at night? I have posted a pic of it on my profile page. It is painful!!!! And painful to touch the pockets of fluid. My knees are going numb when the fluid builds up too much and my knees feel stiff when walking.

The fluid in my knees has been there for 13 weeks now, it is worse when i first wake up and after taking a shower. I didn't start the methotrexate til 5 weeks ago so its not that. My Rheumy still hasn't said what is causing it. We just did new bloodwork for all the autoimmune diseases again so hopefully they will show something, i get the results on November 9th.

I don't know the cause but my husband has lupus/RA and the same is with him only constantly.  We don't know if its RA, the lupus or the methotrexate he takes because we don't have any doctor here on our island that knows anything about the disease.
