Is there more to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?

I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome when I was 16. I have period of extreme unexplainable fatigue. I suffer from frequent migraines which seem to be a direct link to my hormones. I have very bad endometriosis and am facing a hysterectomy at 27 years old. It seems like I am sick ALL the time. I have unexplained weakness in my left side recently which my neurologist thinks it related to a complicated migraine. My mom had similar symptoms in her early 20's and 30's which seemed to clear up after her hysterectomy at 40. I am wondering if I have a hormonal imbalance and do not know how to go about getting this checked. I takes forever for me to get over even a mild cold or illness. I have had unexplained fatigue which makes my body hurt all over from head to toe. It is like an achy fatigue. I will sometimes have to lie down in bed for days on end. My husband and family feel there is more to this than just being tired. My blood pressure is normally low but it will go very high for no explainable reason. I am not on birth control, don't smoke or drink.I am not overly active because even minor activity wears me out. At 27 I think I should have more energy. I have two year old son and have trouble keeping up with him and working full time. Do you have any suggestions on where to start and what areas to look at? I am desperately needing help because my normal life seems to be falling apart at the seems. My husband is patient to a point and I know this is not made up in my head. My mom completely sympathizes because she went thought the exact same thing-fluctuating blood pressure, heart palpitations at times, bad endometriosis, and hormonal problems. She was never able to pinpoint what the problem was a a doctor had suggested some type of autoimmune disorder. Since her's seem to improve after the hysterectomy, she never really followed up. She still has periods of extreme fatigue and weakness which keep her in bed for days at a time. Please help and thank you for your time!!! God bless!

Hi and welcome.

I'm not familir with CPk.  Do you know what they were testing.  And do you know the level and pattern of your ANA?

I know how hard it is to deal with fatigue all the time.  I too had endometrisosis.  It's a difficult illness to deal with.  I had some fatigue with endo, but nothing like I have had with lupus.  It was like I had NO strength.  Very low BP and pulse.

Praying for you,
Kara

It is my understanding the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is present in many of the autoimmune diseases.  I have experienced it.  You might want to consider the book "Prescription for Nutritional Healing" by Phyllis A Balch, CNC which recommends the supplements you can take to help with this problem.  I am taking many of the supplements recommended and following the suggested diet and my Chronic Fatique Syndrome is gone.  The body often can heal itself if given what it needs.  If you are not willing to give up Chocolate, soft drinks, caffeine, sugar and highly processes foods the book will not help.  If you are feeling really bad give the book a try.  You have nothing to lose and you may get your health back.

Hi, sorry to hear you feel unwell.
May i ask have you had your thyroid tested, and also thyroid antibodies, its a simple blood test, also have you had your adrenal glands checked, with a saliva test, for fatigue,
Your problem could be hormonal, thyroid and adrenal, together, which could lead to you having fibromyalgia, with all your aches and pains, and fatigue.
I would start with the thyroid blood tests, and adrenal saliva test, which are all connected as they are endocrine glands, and when unbalanced can cause lots off problems.............
Also get your bloods tested for sugar, diabetes, and also check for PCOS,
Your hormones might be all over the place, so ask your doctor, for some testing, as you dont feel right.

Im not a doctor, but i have suffered over 12 years, with my thyroid, and other endocrine glands out off whack, and boy they can surely put a stop on your daily life.
and make you feel dreadful.
Hope you get better soon, keep me posted,
nicola

In addition to my above question- I have had positive ANA tests that turned negative a year ago. My doctor thought he could rule out lupus. I have had CPk values in the 8,000 range after one of these strange "episodes" of high blood pressure which made me faint. I hit my head but no trauma or damage. Just thought I would add this in. Thanks!
