Low pneumococcals...reason for infections?? Desperate!

Hi
ENT recently ran bloods as I am getting throat infections/sinus infections/chest infections at least every 4 week, it's severely impacting on my life.

These came back low http://s12.postimg.org/9qchvxrl9/image.jpg

He says a per never 13 shot may stop this from happening? I saw an immunologist a while back who seemed to think that these being low wasn't an issue and never ordered an immunisation like the ENT has? So I'm confused...if anyone can shed any light I'd be grateful as my relationship is falling apart bc if being I'll all the time, I can barely leave the house and it's driving me in to the ground.
Thank you

Taking al lthe vitamins and minerals may actually be putting more strain on you, as the waste removal process gets overworked with unnecessary
extra substances.
Look at your B12, if it is cyanocobalamin(instead of the more expensive methylocobalamin form) it does nothing for neurological function and it may present some toxicity issues in the long term.
Folic acid if you are a slow methylator only saturates your receptors, if not in methylfolate.
Magnesium in oral form is only about 4% efficient , at best.
Proper calcium/magnesium ratios if not respected, added supplementation
of the "wrong" mineral will do more harm than good.
Same with sodium/potassium.
Watch your sugar intake, even if from fruit, as it may be contributing to inflammatory processes. It takes about 56 molecules of magnesium
to process one molecule of glucose-but at least fruits have some valuable nutrients.
You may also want to do something to reduce any viral, parasitic, fungal
and bacterial load, by taking prebiotics, probiotics (Must be of high quality
wide spectrum) and coconut oil which is anti-parasitic, antiviral, anti-microbial and anti-fungal. Visit the coconutresearchcenter website for details..
My concern is that you seem to be already immuno-compromized and you may be more vulnerable to possible negative side-effects of the Prevnar 13
until your body gets used to it.
Best,
Niko

Thanks the reason I'm
Having it is because the antibodies for pneumococcals are low and the serotypes so I'm assuming it would be under immunodeficiencies, and prenevar 13 is apparently meant to boost some of the serotypes that are low....according to ENT.
I do
Already take all the vitamins and minerals and I changed my diet, do fruit smoothies and green juices so there's not
Much more I can do....just at end of tether really. Guess I'll just have to see if the shot makes any differece :/
Thank you :)

Hi Katieann1985.

If 1985 is your birth year, I'm afraid that the Prevnar 13 vaccine is not for you unless...
Please read the following excerpt from CDC's website:

Which adults need the PCV13 vaccine?

All adults 65 years or older who have not previously received PCV13

Adults 19 years or older with certain medical conditions, and who have not previously received PCV13. Medical conditions include:
Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks
Cochlear implant(s)
Sickle cell disease and other hemaglobinopathies
Functional or anatomic asplenia
Congenital or acquired immunodeficiencies
HIV infection
Chronic renal failure
Nephrotic syndrome
Leukemia
Hodgkin disease
Generalized malignancy
Long-term immunosuppressive therapy
Solid organ transplant
Multiple myeloma
I think being a smoker should have been included here as well.

Note also that Prevnar 13 is not designed to treat current infections.

Your immunologist might be partly correct, however, since the ENT has ordered the immunization (or at least that is what I understood),
the only thing useful for you to do is to really work on strengthening your immune system.
Have a nice talk with your partner to explain the situation and what you plan to do.
If s/he is an understanding & caring person, it will help alleviate some of the pressure this has put on your relationship.

Eliminating stress, is a good start and yes, I know it's easier said than done and PLEASE if you are a smoker, quit now!
Eat & think healthy, get some physical activity, take some vitamin C etc.
and educate yourself so you can improve your immunity, naturally.

Best wishes,
Niko
