Many autoimmune diseases!

I just listed one of the many autoimmune diseases I have now.  Since 2006 I have been diagnosed with:  COPD, Emphysema, Sarcoidosis of the Lungs and Skin, Obstructive/Central sleep apnea ( bi-pap with oxygen), Narcolepsy, Hypothyroidism, Sjogren's Syndrome ( loss all teeth, now effecting eyes), Rhuematoid Arthritis in knees and ankles ( special shoes for balance), Cellulitus of the lower extremities and underarms, Hypertension, and Major Depression with anxiety and panic attacks.    That is a lot for a man and his family to handle in 2 years.  I already have had 7 back surgeries and that last two were fusions.  Fusions of S1, L5, L4, L3, and the doctor says L2 is very weak.  Was also diagnosed with degenerative disc disease.  Orginally cause by a accident at work in 1991 and shattered a lot of bone and the disc at L4, L5.  Thing have just gone down hill since.  Two Hiatel Hernia Repairs and I mean a the whole rip open the chest.  First one done in 1994 and next one done in 2006, but too much scar tissue had to cut from naval up about 12 inches.   Hope this one holds.  Anyway, autoimmune disease that hit all in 2 years.  Have researched  them and they need a trigger to set them off.   Was exposed to large amounts of asbestos, mold, sandblasting dust (silica), fumes from lead based paints and primers, fumes frow raw sewage, unknown environmenal agents from cleaming many filters on ship, and grinding of non-skid paints to get surface to ready for welding.  All this happen 25 years ago.  Can some of these just fester in the body and take that long to cause this reactions of autoimmune diseases I have.  I am dying, I am on 3 liters of oxygen 24 hours a day and my ABG is only 90% and my Sat level on oxygen is 88- 90%.  The lungs are just not working, not pulling in enough aiir.  Can these environmental agents lay dormant for 25 years.  I know that asbestos has a latent period of something like that, and I did have a lot of Upper Respirtatory Infections while in the Navy.  Where do I go.  The Veterans Hospital is doing all they can, but it is not gettting better. I am on Predisone right now and have been for about 2 weeks and have this horrible cold with sruffed up nose and can not breath at night.   Advice???

I agree with Corvin's comments. Dr. Marshall was given so many months to live (he had sarcoidosis for many years) and came up with the treatment protocol that has saved his life and others.

YES is my answer to your question about "can they fester"..absolutley and until they are triggered by something...STRESS...is a huge trigger for people with autoimmune...they lay quiet in the tissues and cells.

Stress can come in all shapes and sizes.
Stress can be physical stress ( as you have already gone through in your original post)..but what most people don't realize is there is UNSPOKEN stress ( emotional and mental stress) all those long hours spent IN YOUR HEAD worrying about this and that and especially if you don't have someone or a support group to vent to...it is all bottled up.  I'm not making the assumption that you DON'T have support...you might and that would be great for you...but if you don't...there is no expression/venting and therefore the worrying then gets internalized even further only making the physical matters worse.

I would go diectly to Dr. Joel Fuhrman's website and see if you can't speak with him on the phone.  Seriously.  He is in New Jersey. www.drfuhrman.com

Keep us posted.

You're Welcome, I think it's just a really poorly understood disease even among pulmonologists, I've run into a lot of the same things. My pulmonologist won't have anything to do with the MP, I had to get it from my primary. If you decide to go with the MP treatment you will have to really understand it, and basically become your own doctor in a lot of ways because you'll find you'll run into a lot of cold shoulders along the way, and even the doc that does prescribe it won't take the time to actually read the science behind it, it cuts into thier golf time. : )

Feel free to PM me anytime also if your curious about something I can maybe help you out. Take care. ~Corvin

What do you eat of a day?
Take the next two days and everything that passes your lips ( everything including alcohol, suppliments and medications).  I know this may be a BIG task as most people have no idea really what they are putting in their bodies.

I realize your initial response may be what does what I eat have to do with anything?

Let me know what you find from the website suggested to you from Corvin :-)

I look forward to your response.

Thank you so much for the reply.  This is the first time I have heard of the Marshall Protocol ( MP) you see I was diagnosed by the Veteran's Hospital and as good of treatment I think I am getting it is like they are just pushing me along and if I die, then they have no compensation to pay my wife or kids.  Atleast it would take her another 10 years to get something.  I amd my family thank you so much for this information and I will start the research today.  I will keep you in touch with what I find and if there are any good progress coming out of it.  I feel more positive today than I have been in 2 years.   Someone out there cares more about the person than the money.

Again, thanks and will be back in touch.

Hi Sam,

"I am dying". I worried for you too. I was wondering if you've ever done any research on the Marshall Protocol (MP) ? That's the treatment I'm taking for my Sarcoid. Most of all the things you mentioned I have also, except the hernia's, and spine problems. Your lung function is worse than mine though, and if you ever get full blown pneumonia it could definitely be fatal.

A good introduction to the MP would be to go to this website, and read the different articles she has on the site:   http://bacteriality.com/

She has success stories of Sarcoidosis patients on there, and if you have broadband, or can go to the library, and watch this video it sums everything the treatment is about in one nice package:   http://bacteriality.com/2008/05/07/mpintro/

I believe the Sarcoidosis is causing most of your health problems, and if you can get rid of the Sarcoid, you'll eventually get your health back again. Immune suppression treatment of any kind whether it's corticoids, chemo, cholecalciferol, or whatever is contradicted in Sarcoidosis, because Sarcoidosis is an infection of L-form variant bacteria parasitizing the phagocyctes. To me giving a Sarcoidosis patient steroids is like giving a tuberculosis patient steroids. Sarcoid just kills you more slowly than TB is all, and is chronic rather than acute.

I hope you research the treatment, and I also have most of the important links in my journal on my profile page, you'll probably be surprised how much everything makes sense when you hear what they are finding. Take care. ~Corvin
