Staph infection???

Not sure if this is the correct topic....I couldn't find staph infections.  My 24 year old daughter was admitted into the hospital with staph infection on her side.  She had a fever and was in severe pain.  They have her on antibiotics via IV.  I am very worried I have read that this can cause a brain abcess or liver or kidney dammage.  My question is;  what to expect and are there any alternitives to the treatment she is recieving?????  Help please.....VERY WORRRIED MOM!!!!

Hi ! You may want to copy your questions and post them for Prof. Garth Nicolson. He is an expert on infections and the role infections play in chronic illnesses. Here is the link... there is no charge at all and he will be answering questions tomorrow.

The best forum to post this on is Infectious Diseases.  There isn't an expert for that, though, so if you want to ask a doctor, you might try the Urgent Care Expert Forum.  You also might want to look at past questions in Urgent Care; there might be something helpful.  What a scary thing to happen.  Good luck!
