I HAVE SHE LUPUS AND THE PAST THREE DAYS THE SUN OR HUMIDITY AND I USUALLY GET THE RASH ON MY FACE WITH BLISTERS BUT OVER THE LAST 3 DAYS I HAVE NOT BEEN GOING OUT HARDLY I AM VERY SENSITIVE TO THE SUN BUT I HAVE A DIFFERENT RASH NOW MY FACE IS RED AND BURNING A LONG WITH MY HEAD. I AM A DISABLED NURSE AND IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU MAY HAVE A FORM OF LUPUS. THERE ARE A FEW KINDS OF LUPUS SO PLEASE GET CHECKED OUT BY A RHUMEATOLOGIST. ALSO HAVE YOUR KIDNEYS AND HEART CHECKED I HAVE SARCODOSIS SECONDARY TO MY LUPUS AND A PINEALBLASTOMA BRAVO TUMOR.
Hi Thank you for your comments. I have rheumy app on thurs so im hopeful that they will know more than the docs. I have just had ultrasound on my kidneys as i have had back pain for the past three months also but that was clear. The pain is in my back just at the bootom of my ribcage i have had problems with kidney stones and it does not feel as high up in the back its more the bottom of my ribcage.
Also does anyone wake up with ribcage pain in the morning. Lately i am waklin up with the feeling that some large person has been sat on me all night i feel like i have been squashed!
The dry eyes and mouth sound like sjorgen's. Eye drops and lots of fluids will help. Some people also keep some hard candies handy to suck on. I have also been diagnosed with lupus, but I don't have the rash. My face will get red, but not the raised rash.
I know how you are feeling. It took me 8 years to get a dx. Most drs just gave up and said they didn't know. I haven't been able to get a handle on my symptoms yet. They just started me on the meds for lupus last month, so I am still waiting for them to kick in.
I am photosensitive. I can be in the sun for 5-10 minutes and look like I have a sunburn, headache, and very tired. I went out and mowed a yard yesterday (it took 3 hours) and I can barely move today. Probably a combination of sun and exertion.
Hope you get some answers. Keep us posted and good luck.
Hi Thank you for your reply. I know what you mean about the sun burn thing. For years i have plastered my self in all the tanning oils factor 2 and not even managed to go pink so never used to bother with tanning creams if i used a factor 8 abroad i would come home white!
Until last year......my first day in the sun i ended up with third degree burns i was like a burnt chicken my skin went so hard and i was covered in blisters it took me two whole weeks to recover from that day. Its the rash on my face that bothers me the most i have always had a clear complexion and this flares up as soon as it shows signs of going away its so frustrating. The dry eyes and mouth is draining i constantly feel thirsty during that period no matter how much water i drink.
I have spent the past few months on the internet researching lupus and its symptoms and all the other autoimmune diseases that can come with it. So im prepared for what may be ahead. It would just be nice to get a diagnosis so that i know what to avoid or do for the best.
At the moment i know my symptoms are no where near as bad as the could be its just the not knowing that drives you nuts i feel like a hypochondriac most of the time.
I can't say if you have lupus or not.I have been dx with lupus for seveeral years and many in my family also have had it. Some of your symptoms are like mine. I'm happy to see that your going to a rhuemo doc, He will run some special blood test to find out if you do. If the doc says you do then there are many types of meds you can take so you can live a long and normal life. With lupus there is a lot of the wait and see thing and if you can do that then half the battle is over with. If the rhuemo doc says you have it watch your kidneys and the sun, get used to appling sun tan lotion every morning it will be your best friend. I can tell you a lupus burn feels worse then a normal sun burn and takes alot longer to get over it. Another thing you might want to look up The American Lupus Foundation they will give you alot of information. Good luck
When you mention bleeding gums I am reminded of Oil Pullling which is an Indian folk remedy which pulls the bacteria out of the body. You might want to look at oil pulling which is suppose to be good for bleeding gums. I can relate to the bleeding gums. Bleeding gums is a serious health risk and you might want to have that looked at by a mercury free dentist. If you have alot of amalgam (mercury fillings) and root canals that could be the problem. You might want to look at detoxification of the body as a means of healing. There are many programs by mercury free dentist which allow you to remove this toxin from you body. I used a detoxification program by Tom McQuire DDS and it worked for me.
