Unexplained weight loss + other symptoms

I have lost 20 pounds in the last 18 months, although I eat normal and exercise less.  Other symptoms are

Foamy Urine with strong smell
Undigested food in stool/fat in stool
Fatigue
aches and pains - back and legs
sinus congestion
white thick saliva
white coated tongue
sensitivity to hot and cold
stomach pains
clicking joints

the only diagnosis I have is gastritis.

I have had lots of tests - CT of Abdomen and pelvis with contrast, Abdominal ultrasound x 2, endoscopy x 2, colonoscopy, ecg's, chest xrays x 3, loads of bloodwork and urine tests, stool tests, PSA tests, STD tests with exception of Gastritis all clear.

Not sure what is going on with me but my main fears are cancer, Autoimune or a bacterial/viral infection.

Does anyone have any ideas?

thanks

Hi Dek38
You need to rule out 2 things.
1. Low gastric acid levels, possibly from the gastritis treatment, if you're on PPI meds or anti-acids that  will cause this (undigested food in stool is a clue)and it could have dire consequences over time.

Your symptoms point  also to auto-immune like conditions.
2.Have you been tested for Leaky Gut Syndrome (Intestinal Permeability Assessment)?, something that most doctors do not check
( apparently, it is  still not a diagnosis taught in medical school!!!).

It is a very simple urine test: Lactulose and Mannitol test or PEG test. Underlying this is a possible fungal overgrowth or candida
and low gastric acid (suspected) makes it worse.

Also I recommend you self-test for PH levels, both urine and saliva at various time over the next little while. You need to buy some PH strips.

Have you tried a carb-free diet, or at least low carb, avoiding ALL simple carbs from  alcohol, dairy, refined carbs, sugar including artificial, etc.? I suspect that you will find improvement from this.
You could try it as a test for 2 weeks.
Tough one to do but well worth it if it works!

There are many possibilities, also systemic pathogenic infectious conditions come to mind, but I will not elaborate at this time, as it is  very complex.

If you do not find any improvement with your current treatment, and you exhaust all other options and recommendations presented to you,
please do not hesitate to post again, or pm me directly regarding these underlying pathogenic infectious conditions that are VERY difficult to detect. Standard medical tests will NOT find these pathogens!

Note that this is not intended as a substitute for medical advice.

Best wishes!

It could still be a case of low gastric acid levels, even without any meds
You can do an east self test: If you ingest baking soda on an empty stomach, and the baking soda comes in contact with sufficient stomach acid, you may burp up the gas. it's suggested putting a quarter teaspoon of baking soda in 8 ounces of water and then drinking it first thing in the morning, before eating anything. Then check the time it takes before you belch. If it is longer than 2 or 3 minutes before belching, then perhaps you are not producing enough gastric acid. A lot of immediate repeated belching might indicate excessive  acid. Note that this test is only indicative and not diagnostic.

Your PH levels seem good. Now is the urine PH, AM or PM?
The urine PH at 6.5 is low enough ( borderline-lowest normal range) to indicate possible low electrolytes or minerals, which is common.

Candida could be a very nasty and persistent imbalance.
My daughter had/has this for quite sometime. It is unknown, when the candida starts, which by the way happens well before any serious symptoms manifest. So the rule of thumb is when treating candida to add a couple years before the onset of symptoms and then its treatment should be at least one month per year of candida, with a minimum of 6 full months
of treatment. (diet and coconut oil*)
You may do a simple and easy saliva test for candida.
Just search on YouTube for details. If you want, I can send it to you.
Again this is only indicative.

My last recommendation is to do the full Dr Coca's Pulse test, to verify if and what allergies/sensitivity/reaction/intolerance you have to anything ingested that is considered "offensive" by your immune system, including delayed or "hidden" and difficult to link adverse effects to  particular substances! So just do a search for this free (public domain) test.

Oh, one more observation. Sometimes feeling worse after trying a remedy or even a diet as a test (like in your case) may be part of a die-off effect.

I have many testimonies of people that have improved substantially by consuming *coconut oil (extra virgin organic is what I recommend), which is the top anti-fungal agent and an excellent anti-viral, anti-parasitic and anti-microbial remedy. 3-4 T daily in cooking or added or raw is the therapeutic dose, but it's recommended to start with one and gradually go to 3-4 daily within 4 weeks. It has benefited every single person I know, who had G/I and digestive issues. just visit the coconut research center website for details.

Hope this helps and please keep us posted.

Best wishes!

Niko,
Thanks for the reply.  I have a ph monitor which I use for work my saliva is 7.2-7.4 and urine 6.5.  Most of my symptoms started before I was taking PPI's with the exception of food in my stool, also I came off them and things did not improve.
I tried the diet (Which i believe is called the anti Candida diet), and it did not make any improvements (Made me feel worse to be honest).
I was initially on PPI's for an Hiatus hernia (diagnosed in OCT 2012) via an endoscopy, there was no Gastritis during my first endoscopy.  I was off PPI's for 2 weeks for another endoscopy and have now developed Gastritis, possibly because I was off the PPI's for two weeks.

Hi,
Thanks so much for the reply.  Will a biopsy taken from the area effected with Gastritis identify Crohns?  I dont think I have worms, and have had my Thyroid function tested twice and it was normal.  Also I am clear of diabetes I have had 4 fasting glucose tests.
I would not consider my BM's as classic IBS (my girlfriend as that), although I know it can effect people differently.

Thanks

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
Well since you have had a number of tests, I am sure all things have been looked into. Crohn’s disease, IBS, thyroid disorders, worms in stool, diabetes and gut tuberculosis are the main possibilities. In all probability the symptoms are due to IBS/Crohn’s etc as these can cause gastritis, acid reflux, white coated tongue, arthritis like symptoms etc. Hope this helps. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.
