Update:
I saw a rheumatologist yesterday. He is going to check a few things. He ruled out fibromyalgia though.
He thinks it's some metabolic muscle disorder. Probably mainly because I have the most of my problems with muscle exertion and heat.
He asked me if anyone talked with me about my low calcium levels. I was like, no.
My diet has been pretty solid over the past few years. I eat well.
Going along this track since 2010 (when my symptoms started progressing):
Pre-diabetic - last year
Low potassium - told to take magnesium - this year
High B6 - don't take supplements (I didn't back then) - last year
Low calcium - this year
My diet is an organic and wholefood diet. I eat lots of meat, dark leafy greens, rice, fruit, etc. I drink plenty of water and I barely drink soda. My coffee intake is limited to a few cups in the morning and none past 11:00am.
This year I've been taking a multivitamin because different doctors will tell you different things. Some are concerned by the vitamin levels, some are not.
But when you look at all the comments together and the symptoms I've been having they start to make sense I guess.
The ultimate question then, however, is what's up with all that?
From what I understand there is a strong indication of some sort of autoimmune thing going on here. The neurologists don't seem to think it's anything that falls within their specialty. Though they are working from year old MRI's to date. My symptoms HAVE progressed.
Rheumatology says it's not likely something within their specialty ONLY because I don't have some of the common markers they are looking for. Though my doctor is going to do a full set of tests.
Other than the weird nerve/muscle symptoms I can tell you I gained 60lbs in like 6 months last year. My skinny girlfriend ate larger portions than me and she never gained an ounce.
Also my weight gain is pretty much limited to my mid-section.
