I believe you suffer with lyme disease.
I have all the same symptoms. I also went to a rheumatologist and he did blood work. He checked for lyme which came up equivocal not negative, he checked my Sed rate, R-factor, Ana and a bunch more. My symptoms were muscle pain, swollen glands, a lot of pain in my hands and feet, abdominal pain, eye pain, headaches, lower back pain, neck tightness and pain, very fatigued, problems with sleep sometimes, itchy skin, burning skin, dry eyes and skin, night sweats sometimes, cold hands and feet and many more.
The rheumatologist told me that my R-factor was elevated and I needed to start taking immune suppressant drugs, pain meds and anti-depressants right away to prevent rheumatoid arthritis. I just had surgery about 6 months ago because of a non functioning, inflamed gall bladder and the symptoms I had then didn't all disappear. I asked him why would this happen ? I should be getting better. He said it just happens. The rheumatologist had no explanation for all of my symptoms. He said I have fibromyalgia and that I would likely get rheumatoid arthritis if I didn't start taking meds. I was very disturbed that he would rush to put me on these meds even though I had swollen glands along with many other symptoms that were not rheumatoid arthritis symptoms or fibro symptoms. I decided to look elsewhere for answers. I had so many symptoms I thought that they may be hormonal, like the thyroid. I was already on progesterone cream. While I was going through my nightmare my husband and son were also having similar health issues. We all went to see an endocrinologist. It was discovered our thyroid glands were very close to being hypothyroid, we had problems with our blood sugar and our hormones were a little out of normal. Our endo told us we should all go and see a disease specialist. We discussed lyme with her and she said that it could be the problem because lyme can cause adrenal problems, nerve pain, muscle pain, blood sugar and thyroid problems. She said that was a good place to start. We found a lyme doctor who follows ILADS guidelines. If you go to any other doctor you will not get proper treatment. We are on the road to recovery and feeling much better. It has been 3 years since I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and I still do not have it. You need to look outside the box. Doctors today want to medicate and not fix problems. Lyme disease and it's co-infections are being ignored by the medical community. If you need help finding a lyme doc just contact me.
Hey Alison,
Welcome to the forum.
There are a few possibilities.
One is that you may have "leaky gut syndrome".
The wrong things are getting to the wrong places and that includes toxic elements, meanwhile assimilation of essential nutrients vital for your bodily functions is impaired so they cannot not be available when and where they're needed. This can create havoc in your body and with severe consequences.
Crohns, Colitis, Celiac disease are all possibilities as they can all become systemic conditions.
Try an elimination diet (google it) to see what foods bother you so you can narrow it down.
They other possibility is that you have an infectious condition- something like Lyme Disease or Mycoplasma Infection.
Just do a search to find out if your symptoms match.
Post again and let us know.
Take care
Niko
