Thank you for replying! It took years for her to be diagnosed. They thought she might have FMF (familial Mediterranean fever) and then P-Fapa.She's been on colchicine for over a year now and recently had her dose increased. We are hoping this will  help her control the symptoms more.So far her doctor hasn't mentioned using steroids only colchicine so I will ask her about that next time.Does anyone know if the illness tends to run in families?Take care!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
As you probably already know, Behçet's disease is inflammation of blood vessels or vasculitis that is immune mediated. Any inflammation can give rise to fever. So when there is a flare of Behçet's disease, it means there is more inflammation. Hence, these flares can be accompanied by fever. Colchicine is effective in treating ulcers associated with the disease. The disease per se is kept under control by corticosteroids. Hence, talk to your daughter's doctor regarding starting these. Steroids will reduce both flares, and fever. Hope this helps. Take care!
