do I have another autoimmune disoder?

Im been experiencing pain in my armpits along with profound swelling in fingers, arm and toes. Along with swelling I aslo have a burning almost itchy sensation In my fingers,  toes and arms and legs. I have been this way for 4 months now with no let up of swelling. Burning a d itching comes and goes w diffrent levels of intensity. My GP
dosent know what to make of it. Got fusrated w him after he prescribed antibiotics and predisone
w no change and no explanation as to what is wrong w me. I insisted on seeing a Rhumie.
Already see a hemotologist for ACL(a autoimune
clotting disoder) I take warfain for that. Had blood
work done. The Rhumie I saw was shocked w/ tbe
ACL that I have never had blood work before.
Waiting for results. I hope they find something
because I dont know how much more  of this pain
&swelling I can take. Please if anyone else out there has had these symptoms please respond and tell me your diagnosis. Oh i have aslo had pleurisy (two months of that) have had diffrent sides of my face swollen from my neck to my
cheeks Im a 34 yr old female in good health before my PE two years ago.

Okay so I finally got my blood work from my Rhumie. And tested neg for anything he said he could treat me for. My Complete c4 serum was high along /w complete total. My C - Reactive ptorien was also high. My MCV &MCH were low. My RDW was high. He had no explanation for my swelling or pain. And no advice on how to see next. Im very fustrated and would like to know ur thoughts on who i should see or get tested for the swelling and pain discribed before in my hands & feet.

The immune deficiency foundation at primaryimmune.org has tons of information on immune deficiencies. They have a great web-site and wonderful people to talk too. It is all free. Look at the publications they have and they can suggest tests to rule out or confirm different types of immune deficiencies. Last I heard they think there are 185 different ones they know about. Depending on your blood work you can go from there. The IDF also can recommend immunologists in your area who are familiar with immune deficiencies.
Good luck and keep us posted.

It is no use speculating on your symptoms until you have had blood work.  Nothing in particular comes to mind for me.  I can't believe a doctor would put a patient on prednisone without doing any blood work.  Honestly, I feel that is neglectful.
